Nritya Geeta Mala - Vol. 1 consists of two complete margams of Bharatanatyam in 25 songs and is widely used by dancers all over the world. The 25 original compositions of Guru Rajee in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi are based on bhakti as well as Sringara rasas. She has used a wide range of ragas like Amritavarshini, Karaharapriya, Kalyani, Gourimanohari, Yadukulakambodi, Nadanamakriya, Vachaspati etc.

The songs, complete with notation and jatis, are published in 3 scripts, viz. Tamil, Devanagari and English Roman, with a brief summary and word-to-word meaning. Anyone with some working knowledge of music will be able to follow the notation and learn to sing the songs. The word-to-word meaning and the summary in English facilitate the understanding of the contents of the compositions by the prospective choreographer.

Nritya Geeta Mala - Vol. 2 presents 31 songs in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, which include Invocation, Devastuthi, Sabdam, Varnam, Padam, Tillana and others.

Partly funded by the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi, this book was published in 2001. This volume follows the same Padams pattern as the earlier one, but is different in that it includes Varnams and Padams in Hindi, Nayaka Padams exclusively for male dancers, Nindastuti, etc. Guru Rajee used rare ragas like Charukesi, Dharmavati, Navarasakanada and Hindustani ragas like Pilu, Behag and Kalavati.
