Jatinderpal has the distinction of being the first ever Sikh Bharatanatyam dancer in the country, who has already made it to the Guinness Book of World Records. A student of Bharatanatyam for the past 18 years, he is learning not only Bharatanatyam from Guru Rajee, but also Nattuvangam and Natya Shastra. He not only teaches Bharatanatyam but also conducts workshops in Handicrafts and Fabric Painting for children.
Jatinderpal has performed in all the dance ballets of Nritya Geethanjali and given several solo stage performances in Bharatanatyam. He performed at the NCPA, National Centre for the Performing Arts in July, 1996, the 6th Bharatam Dance Festival, Chennai, the Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai and other sabhas.
Recently the Rotary Club of Bombay Midcity confered the Vocational Excellence Award for the year 2004 to Jatinderpal Singh Bansal for his excellent contribution in the field of Indian Classical Dance.

He is a graded dancer with Doordarshan, Mumbai. He won the men’s freestyle solo dance competition, on the popular programme, Boogie-Woogie, aired on Sony channel. He has featured in more than a hundred episodes of ‘Aao Seekhen’ a children’s programme on Doordarshan, demonstrating the use of waste material in handicrafts and fabric painting.
He is skilled in teaching visually, hearing and orally impaired, mentally challenged, spastic as well as paraplegic children, not only dance, but also handicrafts and fabric painting, as a means towards gainful self-employment. He uses Bharatanatyam as a dance therapy for mentally challenged children.
Jatinderpal currently teaches dance, full-time, at The Delhi Public School, Nerul.
He also organises and conducts exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, school and inter-school contests for fabric painting and handicrafts in various cities all over India.
