Jatinderpal Singh Bansal (1962 - 2008)

Messages of love and condolence from all over the world

Jatinder, as a human being, was a very good person, extremely well-mannered and gentlemanly. As my student, he was extremely hard-working. He had a very good stage presence and presented all his shows very well. Jatinder was always very good at making things - for our folk dance programmes, he made the kavadi and karagam props himself, for everybody. He was so friendly in the dance class, he never felt the odd-man out, in the midst of my girls. Nor did the girls ever feel uncomfortable with him. Since he was a father himself, of his two children, he always had a matured and fatherly affection for the girls. In fact, he always encouraged the students, especially before arangetrams. He will be deeply missed. - Guru Rajee Narayan

The pain is unbearable. I pray for his family. All I can see in front of my eyes is his smiling, laughing and ever-jovial face. The tears don't stop. Gut-wrenching. Approximately every three minutes, my steps falter and I am unable to walk, on remembering him.

We were shocked by the news and I can only imagine how all of you must have felt. It is indeed unfortunate that someone so young had to pass away like this. How old was he and did he have some congenial heart problems that he was aware of ? Our sympathies to his wife and other family members.

I am feeling sooooooooo sad about Jatinder... Just could not sleep last night, after I heard the news.

I am very sorry to hear the news. He was a family member of Nritya Geethanjali, which has lost one of its pillars and brightest students. May you all have enough strength to overcome this sad event. Please pass on our sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Bansal. May his soul rest in peace.

I am so very sorry to hear this news. It is a reminder of the fleeting nature of our existence. It has been many years since I have seen Jatinder, but was always so moved by his love of dance and his Guru Bhakthi for Aunty. My deepest condolences to Aunty and our dance family.

Jatinder Uncle will forever be remembered for his ever-smiling face and helping nature, that set an example among everyone who knew him. He led life in a wonderful manner, touching so many lives with his ready laughter and intelligent handiwork and will always be sorely missed.
Jenna Narayan, Mumbai

The news is a shock and so unbelievable. Please convey my condolences to the family. I will always remember the Monday and Thursday classes when Jatinder used to come to SIES. It is unfortunate that I could not meet him in the U.K. when he travelled all the way here.
Jatinder, you will always be remembered.
Lavanya Rao, London

Jatinder's death is a big shock to all of us and we've all been calling each other, for comforting and consoling. I can imagine how difficult it is for the family. If there is any sort of help I could render for their well-being, please do let me know.
Ragini Iyer, USA

We were shattered to know about Jatinder’s death. I really came to know him quite well, during Maya's arangetram in 2001. May his soul rest in peace.
