Born on 31st December, 1984, Renu has been learning Bharatanatyam from Guru Rajee since the age of 5. She did her Arangetram on 2nd January, 1998 and since then, has continued to learn from her Guru and perform on stage.

She participated in the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Nritya Geethanjali. In January 1999 and January 2001, she gave performances in Chennai at Vani Mahal, Music Academy and Mylapore Fine Arts. Renu was awarded the first prize in 1999 during the annual competition of the S.I.E.S High School Ex-Students Association. She was adjudged the best dancer in the individual category in the Chitramala competition of the O.L.P.S Parish held in December 1996. She has compered for the arangetram of a fellow student in August 2001. She passed the Nattuvangam examination conducted by the Institution in 2002.

Renu has completed her HSC and aspires to pursue a career in Engineering. She enjoys sports, reading, music and the creative arts.

Renu says, "I consider myself one of the luckiest to have trained under Guru Smt. Rajee Narayan. For me she has been the proverbial beacon. Perfection personified, Guruji apart from imparting knowledge in the fine arts of Bharatanatyam and Nattuvangam, has been greatly instrumental in making me a better person by continuously administering, subtly though, great virtues of self discipline and human values of love, compassion and humility. I owe her my confidence and my ability to perform on stage. She is truly a teacher par excellence. She is not only my Guru but also my idol, benefactor and model. I sincerely thank God for giving her to us."
