Shailaja Sridharan, born on 16th February, 1983, started learning Bharatanatyam from Guru Rajee at the age of four and a half. She performed her Arangetram in October 1995 and has participated in many of the ballets produced by Guru Rajee. She has played the role of little Krishna in Mahakavi Bharati, of Markandeya and in other group programmes, like the Nritya Geethanjali Silver Jubilee Function.

Shailaja is a Commerce student at SIES College. She is also learning nattuvangam from Guru Rajee. She has participated in many dance competitions at the school level and won several prizes.
