Rural Rhythms - Folk dances that remain popular forever
Since the early nineteen sixties, Guru Rajee has been teaching and propagating the rich folk dance traditions of India; Tamil folk dances in particular.
At the turn of the century, she decided to take this up again and launched folk dance workshops, under the project, Rural Rhythms. Since 2005, her troupe of dancers have presented folk dances at many venues, under the aegis of several institutions in Mumbai, like the Shanmukhananda Women's Wing, the South Indian Education Society at Nerul, the Tamil Sangham, Vashi and at The Times of India Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2007.
