Maharaja Swathi Thirunal’s Kamalajasya is a classic composition, describing the ten Avatar-s of Lord Vishnu. The Maharaja not only wrote the lyrics, but also set it to music. This rich Ragamalika has a different raga for each Avatar.

The 10 major raga-s have Chittaswara passages in each of the verses, ending with a half avartanam durita kala swara, in a set pattern of the first raga, Mohanam, to return to the first line of Pallavi.
